1.000 stories

What do you read? What stories do you like to tell? Where do you like to talk about books? What can a bookshop look like if we think of it differently, temporarily and installatively, personally and tailored to the location?

In the »1.000 stories« workshop, the medium of books was used to get in touch with people in the neighbourhood. 1.000 books, donated by Mitteldeutscher Verlag, were available to the study group as a basis for their design research during the workshop.

At the »Passage 13« district centre in Halle-Neustadt, the students spent four days exploring the potential of books as building components for expansive narratives. Ideas were playfully tested and implemented together with visitors to the centre. The workshop ended with an activity day on the topic of »How long is a book?«.
