We are flex, a studio that designs scenographic spaces. In the course of our work we create poetic moments and spatial strategies. By combining process-based and participative methods with creative and artistic means, we create new forms of participation and communication. We experiment with formats of knowledge transfer and exchange and, as spatial strategists and designers, take part in shaping current social discourses.
In this, we operate in urban, social and in museal spaces and design exhibitions, installations, spatial activations, workshops and interventions. We work in many project-related collaborations and various collective contexts and are active as designers in teaching.
flex was founded 2019 in Hamburg by Janna Nikoleit and Jana Beckmann. The studio space is located in Hamburg Altona.

The definition of Flex|en as an active walking and (re)appropriation of (urban) spaces by women (FLINT), from the book "Flexen. Flaneusen* schreiben Städte" by Özlem Özgül Dündar, Ronya Othmann, Mia Göhring, Lea Sauer is a source of inspiration for us.
