Else Lasker-Schüler

The exhibition at the Günter Grass House is dedicated to the multifaceted work and life of Else Lasker-Schüler, an extraordinary jewish artist of classical modernism, and shows how she created her own poetic world with language, images and performance. Through drawings, letters and publications, the exhibition offers a new perspective on the interplay of art, mysticism and identity in her work.

The colourfulness, materiality and atmosphere of the design concept reflect Lasker-Schüler’s expressive yet sensitive personality, and create a space in which her art can be experienced sensually.
